This is a 2-day residential course, aimed at Band 6 or higher nurses, paramedics, CCP’s, allied health professionals and doctors ST4 and higher OR healthcare professionals who have attended the KSS HOT Trauma course. The course is divided into 6 sessions, each featuring key elements of trauma care. Teaching centres around a complex case study, using moulage, skills stations, lectures and 1:1 practice to learn more about treating multiple patients, airway management including RSI, penetrating trauma including thoracostomy and thoracotomy, moving and handling of the critically ill, communication and human factors.
The days will include teaching on trauma care in pregnancy, mental illness, bariatric patients, and for paediatrics and the elderly.

Lunch and dinner provided. B&B accommodation available on site at extra cost.
Pre course reading includes Case review, KSSAAT RSI SOP, Seminal papers.

Dress for outdoors as maybe wet and muddy.
